Born in Beirut, Dalia Khamissy received a diploma in photography from the Université Saint-Esprit Kaslik in 1999. Since then, her work revolved around social and political issues in the Middle East.

In 2005, she worked as photo editor for the Associated Press in Beirut and quit her job in 2006, after the Israeli offensive against Lebanon and its aftermath. Since then she went back to documenting the consequences of the wars in Lebanon, focusing on the social issues.

Her pictures have been published on the BBC, Aperture Magazine, Eyemazing, The Times UK, Monocle, Financial Times, Le Monde, WSJ, Time's Lightbox, Bite Magazine, Ibraaz, MERIP, Le Nouvel Observateur, The National and Transit Beirut etc. and in several catalogues for the UNEP, UNHCR, Amnesty International, Italian Cooperation and Regards des Photographes Arabes Contemporains by the Institut du Monde Arabe.

En 2005, Dalia travaille en tant qu'éditrice de photographie pour l'Associated Press a Beyrouth, ville qu'elle quittera en 2006 a la suite des attaques israéliennes. Depuis, elle continue a enquêter et étudier les conséquences de la guerre au Liban, particulièrement les problèmes sociaux.
