Tamara Abdul Hadi was born from Iraqi parents in the UAE and raised in Montreal, Canada. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts she moved to Dubai, where she began her career as a photographer, working at Reuters News Agency as a photojournalist and editor in 2005. She then started working fot the New York Times, based in the UAE, covering the GCC region along with Lebanon, Jordan and Syria.

In 2008  she moved to Beirut (Lebanon), where she continued working for the New York Times, while being a freelance journalist for various publications, such as The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal and The Financial Times.

In 2009, Abdul Hadi moved to Palestine where she taught a one year intensive photography program for young Palestinian women with the UNRWA at a vocational women's college in Ramallah.

Tamara Abdul Hadi est née de parents irakiens aux Emirats Arabes Unis et grandit à Montréal, Canada. Après avoir reçu son diplôme des Beaux-Arts, elle déménage à Dubaï où elle débute sa carrière de photographe, travaillant à la Reuters News Agency en tant que photo- journaliste et photo-éditeur en 2005 avant de travailler pour le New York Times et de couvrir des pays tels que le Liban, la Jordanie ou la Syrie.

2008 Basée à Beyrouth, où elle continue à travailler pour le New-York Times, elle est photographe en free-lance pour diverses publications telles que le Guardian, The Wall Street Journal et le Financial Times

2009  Abdul Hadi s'installe en Palestine où elle enseigne au sein d'un programme intensif de photographie d'un an pour les jeunes femmes avec le UNRWA dans un collège pour fille à Ramallah
